Richard Black Thread

I'm currently using this cue of Richard's made back in the late 80's early 90's as my playing cue....

Awesome playing cue -- easy on the eyes too! A special thanks to Bill at Cornerstone for hooking me up!!! ;)

Ok. I've been fairly quiet about this for a while buit I have to say that I don't share the same love for Richard and his cues. I don't understand where the value comes from considering the amount of "mistakes" that have left his shop.

Now I know that this is a thread about people and their adoration for Richard Black cues but I've seen quite a few and many of them had some really sloppy inlay work. The craftsmanship was substandard for the price and, in my opinion, the play is not that great. I'm just curious as to what so many people see in Richard Black.

(although i have to admit, krbsailing, that is a beautiful and clean looking cue. classic design. very tascarella-esque.)
