I just started playing in a 9 ball league, held in pool halls which
I find much more enjoyable than the bar league 8 ball scene.
The more I play 9 ball, the more creative I play.
It's a slop league so caroms are very appealing if I think I'll still
get shape on whatever will be next.
Feel free to post some shots that you'll play when you're feeling loose.

edit: looking at this shot again, it looks like the 9 would have been a 2 rail bank.

edit: looking at this shot again, it looks like the 9 would have been a 2 rail bank.

I assume with the smiley face you were joking about the 2 rail bank. At least I hope so. But the shot you diagrammed is just a billiard. No more no less!!! These are some of the shots you should learn to look for when playing any type of rotation game especially 9 ball and 10 ball.

In reference to this particular shot it could very well be a 2 way with the correct speed. You could easily miss the 9 ball off the CB and leave the 2 on the rail with no shot due to the 8. Some of the greatest 9 ballers are creative with their shots and position play. But the 1-holers are the most creative!!!

I would play the billiard against a LOT better player...since I'm going to need more than my share of luck to win...but in an even match, I would MUCH prefer slow rolling into the 2, sending it to the side rail and hopefully getting a hook behind the 6.

WAY higher percentage shot and a winner of the opponent misses the 2 or leaves you a layup if he hits it...especially since the upper right corner is about a mile wide with the 9 ball where it is.
