Me and some other regulars at the poolhall play ring games occasionally. It's usually 15-ball rotation, and the moneyballs are the 5, 10, and 15 balls, usually valued at $1-$2-$3. No safeties allowed, sharking is encouraged, etc. If you combo the 10 or 15 ball in while the 5 is on the table, they spot back up. If the 5 has already been made, and someone combos in the 10 ball, it stays down, and so on.

I was trailing by a few dollars, and I was hooked on the 5 ball. I hit a 3-rail kick extremely hard, and the 5 hit a few balls which comboed in the 15. That's $3 right there. The 15 spots back up, and I don't have a makeable shot on the 5 ball. I slam at a cluster of balls, and the 10-ball falls in, thats another $2. It spots back up behind the 15. Again I don't have a shot at the five, so I slam at it again, it goes into the 15-10 cluster on the spot, and the 15 caroms off a ball and goes in. The 15 spots back up, thats another $3. Finally I have a shot on the 5, and the rest of the rack is still pretty clustered. I spear in the 5, break out some balls, and get a shot on the 6, and I run out from there. The whole time my opponents are sharking me, whooping and hollering. They werent angry, but they were just amazed at how I got lucky so many times in a row by slopping in the money balls, and then running out. Needless to say, my luck stayed the same from there, I kept getting shots on the money balls. Alot of times in these ring games, one or two players rarely ever get a clear shot. But they kept selling out to me. It was a fun night. I've had nights where I've lost over $100 after a few hours playing $1-$2-$3.

The best part about the game is that when you have an open table that is runnable, it really makes you bear down and concentrate, since sharking is encouraged, and there are 3 money balls on the table. Anyone else play ring games like this? We don't play 10-ball ring games because they go too fast. 15-ball rotation is alot more fun IMO.
