SCHMELKI has it in 3-4 colors...JERtd873 said:Does anyone know where to get the "old style" marbelized looking ring material? I've seen various colors on old cues, but haven't come across the actual ring material.

I've heard it called Pearlite (like in gun grips) but I haven't had any luck locating a mfg. or dealer who sells it.

It comes in solid rods that I believe are 1.5" in diameter and around a foot long. I have purchased from both places but Schmelke is the lowest in price. For doing repairs on Vikings, use the material from Schmelke as it's a much closer match. If it's for your cue building then it doesn't make much difference.

I don't think it is the same stuff that is seen on gun grips. The stuff you get from Atlas is some kind of polyester and would chip and break pretty easy if it was made into a gun grip.td873 said:Thanks for all the help guys! With all of your suggestions I realized that the perfect keyword for searching is "pearlescent." I found one mfg (EPCO) and noted that Prather (in addition to Altas and schmelke) also sells the stuff!
