rings

The black is not phenolic. It is ABS plastic. If you use phenolic, you will change the playability of the shaft. When doing repairs, even on a Meucci, you must always take the playability of the cue into account before performing the repair. If not, you shouldn't be doing it.

Cutters for making ring slots. My best guess is 1/8 inch for the slotts that I need to make. Do I use carbide straight slot router bits for this procedure? I will be using a tapershaper by unique. What are all of the common withs for this procedure? Does anyone sell like a 10 bit combo pack.
Thanks.

PS Who said anything about phonolic??

Black linen is phenolic.

I just received a meucci 97-12 cue i bought from a user here.

The shaft has a tiny crack /cap between the ring and the wood in the joint and the shaft keeps kinda wierd voice. Its a black dot.

Anything I can do or should I send it back?

You can replace the ring and that should take care of the problem. I'd charge you $20. I have that ring work in stock.

That would be great but I live in finland and shipping would cost together about 70dollars :) almost cheaper to buy new shaft...
