Are there any rivalries in mens pool? In women's pool you have Karen Coor and Allison Fisher. Rivalries tend to help promote a sport like the one between Chris Everett and Martina Navratilova. Who cared about women's tennis before them?

earl strickland and corey deuel used to have a pretty good rivalry. dont' know if its still there, its been awhile since i've seen them play each other.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a rivalry but some of the greatest matches I have seen in person have been between Johnny Archer and Jose Parica. Seems like they are always hill-hill.

Earl walked out of a tournament 3 or 4 years ago in the finals. He was pissed because Corey was soft-breaking and beating him. I don't know if they are friends now or not.

Ralf Soquet can beat anybody in the world but he has always had problems beating his friend Bustamante. I think this year's BCA was the first time Ralf has beaten Bustamante in the final rounds of a major tournament.

I would like to see Earl play Charlie Williams, considering the UPA fiasco :)

When Efren first started making splashes on the scene there was quite a rivalry between him and Earl, with lots of finals matchups.

During the Camel Tour years there were some great rivalries. I remember the whole deal with Earl trash-talking at Busta, that was fairly entertaining.

The reason the women have clearer rivalries is because the top two or three women leave the rest in the dust, while with the men, anyone among the top 20 or 30 players in the world can win at any time.

seems like the only rivalry I can even remotely see as a fan is Earl against the rest of the world.

They really need a more difficult cue game for the pros so that the top guys finish at the top more consistantly. Nine ball isn't going to do it.
