Road Trip For The Next 6 Weeks

If you think the life of a tour director is easy, sweat this.

My next 5 weeks of events average about 500 miles away from my house
(Cleveland, OH) for each event. Because of this I will be on the road for
the next 40 days. During this time I will miss several Birthdays in my
family, a few anniversaries and seeing my 10 year old daughter which by the
time I get back will be at least 1 inch taller. If you think that's rough.
My son Matt is Graduating High School today (early) and this Sunday the 22nd
he will turn 18. That means no BIG family & friends PARTY for him since he's
going with me.

The road trip is going to take us (Matt & me) to the Atlanta area (Marietta
& Duluth) from Friday, January 20th until Friday January 27th for the $30
IPT Qualifiers at the POOL ROOMS. On the 28th & 29th we will be in
Greenville, SC for a $1,000 added Viking Tour event at Sporty's then we head
back to the Duluth, GA area were we will have the $2,500 added Lamar Open
Viking Tour event on February 4th & 5th at the POOL ROOM and we will stay
there until February 8th. On February 9th we head to Greenville, NC for a
$1,000 added Viking Tour event on February 11th and 12th at ON-CUE Sport Bar
and we will stay in that area until February 16th then we head to Hickory,
NC for a $1,000 added Viking Tour event on Feb. 18th & 19th at Randolph's
Billiards and will stay there until February 21st then we are off to
Huntington, WV for a $1,000 added Viking Tour event at TJ's Billiards on the
weekend of the 25th-26th. If all goes well and Matt doesn't kill me by then
we will be back in Cleveland by March 1st.

If anyone is in the areas that we will be in give us a call on my cell phone
at 1-800-200-POOL (7665), Matt and I would be happy to hang out with other
AZ'rs. During our down time between events we would also like to check out
some local attractions so if you know of any good things we should see or do
while we are in a particular area please let us know.

Hopefully this will be one of my last road trips. After this one it will be
Matt's turn. I plan on staying home in the office more to sell events and
gain additional sponsors while Matt goes out to run the Viking Tour events.
If you get a chance to come by one of the events please do so. Introduce
yourself to me and Matt.

I almost forgot. If you are in the Duluth, GA area on January 22nd stop by
the POOL ROOM for Matt's 18th Birthday party. Bring presents.

To see a list of the events we will be at check out our schedule:

See'ya on the road,

Mj

The Flamingo is where ?

Also, I will be away from AZ for most of the time while I am gone.

When do the withdraws start ?

Tough Trip?

Yes.. but if you live in Cleveland, going south for 6 weeks during the January and February months is NOT a bad plan at all.

Don't forget to pack your swimming trunks...

Good luck Mike

Matt thinks this is a much better picture of him.

I wonder why;) Oh and the AZ withdrawals start almost immediately, there is no known cure.

Have fun on your road trip Mike and make sure your son has an awesome birthday!

I'm starting to get the shakes already. I hope they have an internet connection at the POOL ROOM in Marietta or i'm gonna get seizures if I don't get my AZ fix.

It's 12:45 EST and I am finally ready to leave my house.

I filled up my truck (gas prices suck). I changed my belt, spark plugs and oil plus put 4 new treads on the truck (it was time for all that anyway).
I printed out all my mapquests and loaded the truck, I mean Matt loaded the truck. It's packed so full we can't even recline the front seats (F-150 Super Crew) or see out of the rear view mirror.

Talk to ya'll in 40 days.

Dang, who wrote that song, "40 days in the hole" or was it 30 ?

Adios,

Mj

I can make you feel better, I've been in Iraq since September, I haven't managed to be at home for any of my 2 year old daughters B-days, I've got a boy and a girl set of twins that have learned to crawl and walk and talk since I've been here and the only thing I want out of this deployment, a pool table at my house in Kentucky, somehow keeps moving down my wifes list of priorities. To top it all of, I have managed to spot a pool table here and there in country and my game has dropped off immensely and I'm not even halfway through yet!!!

The good news, I go on R & R leave for 15 days of non-stop debauchery tomorrow. Glad you guys are holding it down there for us, quite a few pool junkies over here missing their fix, at least we can live vicariously through you guys.

If you or any of your buddys over there make it to the Hampton Roads area, let me know.
I'm near "Ft. Eustis" & I'll be happy to rack em up with ya ;)
There are a couple of great halls in this area... My favorites are "Obelisk Billiards" which also has great food n drinks & "Pockets" (no alcohol) for your more laid back atmosphere & good games play till the sun rises most Fri/Sat nights. (cue repair on site)
:D
