Road Trip Help

Hi group,

I am going to be driving from New York to Florida this weekend. I plan to take three or four days to do the drive (I leave saturday, and have to be in South Florida sometime tuesday). My question is, if you were me, and wanted to play pool each night, where would you aim to stop? Are there good pool rooms located at places along the way that would make for good, safe stopping points? I would like to drive about 7 hours or more each day. I don't want to be anywhere dangerous. I don't want to go far out of my way. Any suggestions of cities and pool rooms to aim for?

Also, anyone want to meet up for a game? I'm a strong "B" player.

I'd stop the first day in the DC area. Tons of great action there. The Carolinas are good. Shame everyone is going to the Derby City this week.

Thanks for the pool room link. It could be a big help. If Daytona is on the way I'll try to drop you a line, although I don't really play one-pocket.
 
charlotte is a bit out of the way for i95. little reno here in fayetteville is just a few minutes off the highway. pm me if you're looking for a game.

Raleigh NC also has several rooms with some pretty good action. Babineau's, Play2Win Billiards (Formerly Katie's), Brown's Billiards, and the Brass Tap are all good possibilities.

I am in the DC area and can probably meet you somewhere...depending on date/ time. I also know which places are convenient to your travels. PM me and we'll discuss specifics...
 
1. Drive directly to Louisville only stopping for gas
2. Spend the maximum amount of time at the Executive West
3. Then leave to drive to Florida

It will be well worth your time and energy
 
Thanks for all the advice (except for playing Keith!). I have printed the thread and will bring it with me. I'm going to PM the guy in DC, although I think I'll probably be past there on saturday before I stop. I'll try to hit Lousville and NC on the way, so keep an eye out for a tired looking stranger.
