I have a friend that has 3 9ft. Robertson pool tables that I can purchase and was needing to know some info on them. Anyone familiar with this brand? They are from the 60's or 70's I think and look alot like Brunswick anniversaries. They have 1 1/8 inch slate I think and play very good. They are black with silver trim. Any info and price is appreciated.

They're from Tampa. When I lived there I actually toured the factory, but never ended up having room for a table.

I've played on lots in halls around there, but I'm no expert when it comes to table construction, etc...

AFAIK, they're still in business in Tampa. Your best bet may be to just call them.

I know a room close by me had 6 Robertsons for a very long time. A few years ago they replaced them all with Diamond Pro Ams and they had all the Robertsons for sale pretty cheap. Like $400 each I think. I looked into them and at that time I heard Robertson was no longer in business, at least as far as commercial tables go anyway, but since then I have heard they are back producing commercial tables, all hear say, but that's what I heard.

The tables I played on played pretty good, not Diamonds or Gold Crowns, but not bad. Best I recall they favored the Brunswick Medalist style tables that many older poolrooms used to have as far as looks.

The Black Max tables were great. Styled after the anniversary from Brunswick. Not quite as heavy and solid, but you can sandbag the legs to add some rigidity.

I owned a 9ft. Black Max and loved it. They are great tables for what they can be had for.
