Rock Hard Putty For Seams

i like bondo and i've gotten very good at using it on my jalopys. also it dries hard but pliable. if a shim comes out i can probably just knock it back in without fear of the bondo cracking out of the seam, right? that's my main concern with the hard putty. i'm tired of using wax because you can't vacuum the table without fear of sucking it up from the seam.

Rock hard Putty

Man am I glad I read this I was going to use rock hard putty but looks like bondo may be the way to go. I asked the mechanics about fixing a scratch on my slate and some recommended bondo for that as well.

I never used wax I lived in Nevada 100+ in July & August so wax was out.

Do you remove the old rock hard putty that was left in the seams or just fill in?

try to remove as much as you can ....
use a scraper just as the bondo is about to dry ....if you wait too long it is a time consuming process to get it flat ....

the bondo almost leaves a glass like finish in the end .....i was impressed.
