So I purchased a Predator Sneaky here on AZ a little while ago. It's a wood jointed green veneer 4 pointer. When I got it it was in 99.9% condition and straight as an arrow. Now there's a slight wobble when rolled, together and apart at the joints. It's happened over a very short period of time. So here's a barrage of questions [I use warp/wobble interchangeably. Is there really a difference?]
What can cause a cue to warp like this in a short period of time?
Is the joint on the butt or shaft more likely to warp?
Are Wood joints more prone to warping than SS joints or joints with a phenolic collar?
Will "hard" shots cause this kind of wobble to occur?
Is there a way to halt this warping process or fix it should it worsen?
Also, my 314 shaft is unique. It was built during the transition from 314 to 314-2. My friend said that original 314's are piloted straight into wood. New 314-2 are piloted into phenolic. However, my 314 is wood with not collar, but it is cored with phenolic, and then piloted with the shaft insert. Not sure if the different methods of building the shaft will help people answer my questions~ Thanks
