Does anyone know if Mr. Thomas is still taking orders? Also, can you order through him directly or would you have to go through a dealer like IndyQ? Thanks.

When I last spoke to him he was still taking orders, but hes a little tough to get a hold of.

My suggestion would be to go through IndyQ, unless you have a something custom in mind.....

I'll look around for the number or email that I have for him.

Seems like a nice enough guy that does some extremely nice work.

Ron Thomas's # is 337-234-3089.

Thanks pbat. I figured that might be the case. I have the number, he's just too busy to answer it. :p Also, I was kind of concerned about IndyQ because a lot of people don't like him from what I hear. Doesn't bother me as long as I can get my Thomas. :D

Hey SSach,

I guess I did have the wrong phone#. I just spoke with him a few hours ago. Really nice guy to work with. He even gave me his cell to call him on the weekend. :D With customer service like that, I'd spend some good money for a 1x2 from him. Thanks for the help guys. :D

Does anyone know if his default case will hold a 60" cue with joint protectors?

He makes custom size cases, you should call him. He is great to work with and I wish there were more people that as easy to deal with as him.

Today, Indyq has posted 20 new Thomas cases. There appparently is a new design featuring Thomas Friction-Fit Top (there is no latch).
Thought I would pass this on.
Later!

I ordered a whitten from IndyQ and had a great experience. Roy was very responsive and professional to deal with. I would not hesitate to order from him, and probably will do so again. IME, YMMV

How is his case compared to jack justis?

Your talking about 2 completely different styles. I think Jack makes an unbelievable "cowboy" style case. Thomas makes cases that I think are just as strong but lighter.

I dont think you can go wrong with either of them.

You are right, I would pay $100,000 more for the cue case than to have to even deal with Roy Malott for 1 second.

Ron ain't no bargin to deal with either. Mr. Justis on the other hand is a true gentleman.

Well if you bought it from Indy you paid over list, and paid too much for postage. Had you ordered from Whitten Directly you would have paid LIST + 15 BUCKS for Delivery. Negative of Whitten direct is 3 weeks for delivery. Roy stocks some Whittens, but like I said sell em ABOVE SUGGEST LIST.....

I didn't pay above list. I probably paid more than some cases go for on ebay, but I know what I paid and no, I didn't get ripped off for shipping. Like I said, my experience was fine. Roy answered a bunch of questions and I got exactly what I wanted for a price I was fine with.

Jim,

I have dealt with Ron Thomas and my experience was great. I take it you were referring to Roy and not Ron.

To everyone else, if you are interested in a "It's George/Fellini" style case I would recommend dealing with Ron Thomas or Sam Engles (waiting fro my case as we speak) who are currently making those style cases.

.

Nope, although I am not a fan of Roy's either, the fact is Ron is a nice guy and does great work, but in my dealings with him he was less then businesslike. IMO this is one of the major problems in the industry.

I am the owner of a poolclub in the Netherlands and I am looking for Ron Thomas cue cases. What is the best way to get it?
