I am telling you folks watch out for him when he plays in the next ipt tournament because he will be dangerous, after what I seen at the ipt press conference at the hard rock cafe in london archer, strickland and even hohmann better watch out cos there's a new kid on the block and his name is ronnie o sullivan.

Ronnie has been deadly at snooker for years, and I think it's just a matter of his personal commitment on how well he does.

I'm a fan, and look forward to how he adapts to the game (same goes for Jimmy White).

Daniel:D

So Rocket Ronnie is going to shift to pool? Yes, i think he will do wery vell at pool, he has a long game and a safe game that is fantastic. I cant wait to see him in action:D :D

Yeah, okay. But do you think he'll have any chance at all against Allison and Karen??? :D ~Doc

yeah nice one gulf port doc but sarcasm dosen't suit you and btw o'sullivan will wipe the floor with fisher and corr.

I think Ronnie will put up a good fight, i would not be surprised if he beats some of of the known names.

Also Ronnie uses more side in snooker to pot balls than most other players. So he doesn't have to contend with the unfamiliarity of side spin.

But if there were any doubts that he could hang with the big boys of pool his 2nd place finish at the Weert Open should have silenced those.

Did he say definitively in which events he was going to participate? I really wouldn't mind seeing him in 8-ball action, but obviously I'd like to know if he truly was going to be there.

it'll be interesting to watch

Hope he is dangerous cause I'd hate to see a train wreck. It could go either way. Kinda like Earl the pearl, but multiplied.

i wonder what kind of spot he'd get from the Pro's in US. Anybody care to guess what he'd get for 9ball, 1p etc from Deuel, Pagulayan, Reyes etc

Wel I saw him play a couple of months ago! He was invited for a tournament named the Weert open! He is a copycat! Really, he takes in everything he sees and then just does it!

the results of the tournament!

He will play in the World pool masters in about 2 weeks!

He's definately playing in the ipt he will also play in the world pool masters a fortnight from now and to let people know that when he does beat the big guns won't be no fluke as he done it in weert just look at the results.

Oh and btw when ronnie is on the scene methinks earl won't get away with his antics quite so easily as he has done in the past. :)

Cornerman's word is right, i am more doubting his words than his skills, apparently some of the ppl here do not know snooker scene fairly well. if he really shifts to pool and gets his mental part worked out, he will be a killer.

but somehow i think he has said that he would have gone too some pool tournaments for years, cos from what i know, he started playing 9-ball since 92 ( i still have a video clip of him vs. varner ). but it never happened.

He is for sure attending IPT, just playing purly for the money since the ranking tournaments of snooker have been cut down from 14 or 16 to less than 10, and he reckon there is not enough money for him to grab.

There was certainly no shortage of high grade, world caliber talent in this field.

If it's tight Diamonds and a long race, of course for the time being, the US players will have an advantage over Ronnie. Maybe the 7. On short races with sloppy tables, it's a coin flip for any top player, O'Sullivan or not.

But, only for the time being. He is a world champion at his cue sport, and if he decided to make the change, a world champion is a world champion. It's not like he's 17th down the list. Some of his peers consider him the best ever.

That being said, games like 1-pocket are a different breed altogether. Ronnie's execution should match top US players if he decided to play it, but it really is the creativity and experience (like seeing some crazy ass shots) that's needed.

This is all really about what Ronnie wants to do and can be bothered to do than what he is capable of doing. Everyone who's ever seen him knows he's the greatest talent to ever hold a stick in a cue sport and if he chooses pool it will take him only a few months solid practise to pick up the necessary 'knowledge' to beat anyone put in front of him. From what I've heard even with his current level of knowledge he'll do some serious damage on the IPT. I'm sure snooker will always be his number one sport but you just never know with Ronnie how much he 'wants it' in pool. IMO he will be in the top 5 UK players if he played now and maybe even higher but certainly behind Appleton and Hill at the moment.

Personally, I think that at the likes of 8-Ball and 9-Ball, he wouldn't require a spot. He could easily hold his own - especially with the amount of practice that he's reportedly been putting in on the pool table. In fact, I would go so far as to say that if the discipline was Straight Pool, he may have to give some weight away to some of the top players. Sure, he'd probably lose the safety battles against the old-school players, but with there being some similarities between Snooker and Straight Pool (the break, the safety battles, etc) I think he would do really well at that discipline.

One Pocket? That's easy! O'Sullivan's would get busted off the table and his brain would melt!!! Spot or no spot, it would happen.

a few months and beat everybody in front of him cmon now i highly doubt that but a very touching comment lol :) you may not know this but there are some pretty good 9ball and 8ball players around nowdays:)

I have to agree with Mark (and boy is that rare). I mean, I'm not a pro, but he can get the 7 from me right now at nine ball.
