Room Owner Question

I did not assume anything

I'm not making any assumptions based on what you think my sales are. You assumed we were doing 6k per wk. Not even close. Not even in the ballpark.
I ran my percentages for last night and they were right on what I specified.
Does this mean that all poolhalls enjoy this breakdown of course not. The originator asked what my breakdown was and I simply gave him my history of % of sales by catagory. No assumptions included just the facts for my business and my business alone. I think you may have read between the lines based on your business model all the time not knowing mine.

I try not to be critical of anyones opinions in the room owners forum. I was just providing an honest answer to a question I was qualified to answer.

As far as not having many good players I have more than my share. APA National Masters Champions and the Fifth place team both play out of my room. We send three players to the US Open in Chesapeake every year with several cashing.
I did not assume anything my friend.
I used those figures as an example. I dont care if you take in 20000 a week if your pool income is 18 percent of your total you are not a pool room but a bar. No better than a bar with bar tables. Now I saw the pictures of your room and your pooll sales should not be that low that is all I am saying. As a room owner of 30 years I think I am qualified to make that observation and you should not take it as an insult. You are the one who put that figure out their for scrutiny and it makes no sense to me but you live in Carolina and I am in California and that could be the difference.

Please also point out where I criticized that you had no good players. I would have no idea. I question your figures cause they make no sense to me and you respond defensively but it is like you did not even read the response or comprehend it.

I dont figure it that way

I wish my pool time was 100% profit. Just wondering how much your rent is? and how many square feet your pool tables take up as a percentage of that space? I think THAT is your cost just to HAVE the tables there.

Your rent is your rent and yes pool tables take up the space but your business is more than just pool tables you have to put the whole of the business together but if you own the tables you only maintain them but you have to buy everything else to sell it. If you dont want to pay rent for the table space then become a disco. The rent covers the whole business no matter what you use it for. The only part of the business you have that is about 100 percent profit is pool time, especiallly if you own the building, right. There is a city however in Calif. that charges 5 percent entertainment tax for every dollar you take in and that would make table timme 95 percent profit.
