Room owners that operate leagues

Gotta get something !

How many room owners charge a league that is in house to operate it?
Do you do it for free?

Since I dont have major food sales or alcohol, I charge $5.00 per player weekly for time

We do it several different ways, depending on city and location

APA is one option. They are typically a little more amateur, therefore spend a bunch of cash on Alcohol, food, sodas. We provide the place for them, and they run the league. Depending on city as to what their benefits are...some are 1/2 price pool, some are free for league members on non league nights. Fridays and saturdays no free or discounted pool.

BCA is another option. Typically they dont spend as much $$. We normally charge a green fee for them. We do not have a whole lot of these leagues. They also dont usually get as good of a discount on pool.

We also run in house merchandise leagues, which can be very profitable, as they get retail value towards purchases of cues/cases/darts..etc from a catalog, and we pay about 50% of the price, so we make 50% plus a little more from all the people who never redeem their points. Some locations are easier to sell this to than others. Many want a cash league or vegas league. Their discount varies by location

That about covers it.

(we have 18 locations in 14 different cities and covering 2 states, so you can see why the wide discrepancy)

I personally will not play nor do i like APA rules, but they are by far the biggest spenders in the league groups, and after all, we are all trying to make a buck!!

Good luck!
