Room size for two 8 foot tables.

Anyone know what the smallest Room size you can put two 8 foot tables in and still play well, I am wondering if they both with fit in my two car garage.?
Also how far a part should the min table distance be side by side.

In mean there’s math that can solve minimums. And there’s recommended dimension charts all over the internet.

I can tell you I believe 5ft all around is a good starting point. More than 5 feet in one area is good for seating. Or seating in the corners of the room

I looked online and searched here too, Most of those charts are for a single table, I am trying to figure out the cross over distance of adding the 2nd table to see if two tables would even work out.

5' in between tables and you might have to wait for someone to shoot if both tables are in play. Obviously more is better, but 5' will let you get into proper stance.

And it should be said that anything much less than 5’ and your ass will be up against the adjacent table in lots of shots.

It’s no good. Even if 20’ was width and if you have home edition 8’ tables you’d be left with 152 inches for space. Too tight

A guesstimate on the playable area is about 18 x 20. My garage is 23x 23 on the floor plan but I have some built in work space/ counters.
You would need the tables going the long way on the 18’ dimension. 20’ the other way isn’t really enough for two tables - 5’ on the outside of each leaves 10’, and the two tables take about 4’ each, leaving 2’ between the tables.

The full 23’ would be just enough.

Is 18’ width or length?
I could put the tables either way. My thought was it was tight but maybe. Hungarian: a 9
foot diamond is on my mind as well.
The thing is I have 4 8 foot Valleys Stored in my garage, We do not have a decent pool room in our town just some bars. I have been trying to set something up but lease prices are high here even with tons of builds vacant. I am not sure how they afford to let them all sit as they ask for three times the value in our area.

For width (tables side by side) to have preferably 6 feet between the tables, 5 feet from both side walls and accounting for nearly 5 foot width per table, you’ll need at least 26 feet width, but you could get by with 25 feet width.

For the length of the room (ends of the tables) you’ll need 8-1/2 feet length of the tables to end walls plus a minimum of 5+ feet from the 2 end walls, so 19 feet would allow you just enough room only to put single seats in the 4 corners. Another 2+ feet length would allow you to have seating at least on one end, so 21–22 feet length would be preferable.

So overall, 26’x21’ would be preferable, but you could get away with 25’x19’.

Yes, two tables won't fit in a way that would be enjoyable.

As for how close to put your single table near the wall, that depends on you, partly. How about taking a sheet of plywood down to the local room and testing how close you can put it to a table before it is irritating? Or just use a chair. Or play on any table in a tight space and think about how much more room would make it comfortable. Then measure what you got.

Some people don't mind using a short cue. Some don't mind having their foot against the wall. Some want to stand back and step into the shot. What are you comfortable with?

Between the tables should be no diffirent then from edge of the table to the wall.
If you’re having play on both tables at the same time, which I assume you will otherwise you wouldn’t want 2 tables, having only 5 feet apart between table sides is a bit of a pain compared to 6 or better yet 7 feet apart, if you have the room.

Side by side, with 4' between the two tables would be fine, so long as you can still achieve 5' around the perimeter. That said, 18'x23' would be ideal. 17.5'x22' would be an absolute minimum. Just keep in mind, It would be fairly tight, if you were trying to have people playing on both tables at once.

i am sure you have seen something like this
so using the chart

an 8 foot table needs 17' x 13',4"
so you need 17 feet in length
and 13,4x2=16 feet 8 inches
plus 15 feet(5 feet on each side and 5 feet between
so( 31feet 8 inches in width .......THIS IS WRONG SEE EDIT)
26 feet or more to be "comfy"
if my math and assumptions are correct

pointed out in post #13 my calculation is off
26 feet wide should do fine

Not sure how you came up with 31+ feet width from your calculations, but no, that is not correct. Refer to my post #13 in this thread.

I would forget about two tables and put a 9ft Diamond, it would be perfect.
