Has anyone ever tried this? Stripes or solids is determined by a coin flip or lag and after the break you must run out your balls in order before pocketing the 8. All of the standard 8 ball rules would apply except for the rack. The 1 ball and 9 ball would be in the back corners to make the odds equal that either would go in on the break. Might be pretty challenging.
 
Yes, I've played this game regularly against my ex....at least while she was not my ex. She loved to shoot pool (8 ball), so we found this to make the game about equal.

It is really not that difficult once you get a good shoot on the lowest ball. We played that I could shoot lowest to hightest or highest to lowest. It's about like nine ball with many more trouble spots!
 
Yeah, I gave up this spot. She plays regular 8 ball, I play rotation. This is a HUGE spot in 8 ball. It did not go too well for me. She is a 6 in the APA. Very fun though.

There is a game called "Boy meets girl" or " Mr. & Mrs."

It's regular Eightball for the lesser skilled player and Rotation for the more skilled player in running out their solids or stripes ...
