Rotation Rules (Filipino Style)

i guess they did... there was no jump cue during those years (i guess were in the same years hehe). I also remember it's okay to jump with your playing cue as long as you don't scoop (sungkit) it way back in the 80's. Unless i guess also depending which region your from, different rules and most of it is not standardized during that time. well even now if you go to some remote areas, it's still not. :)

now, with the jump cue i was surprise why you can't jump if you can't see a full object ball w/ this rule. hmmm...I don't know the rationale about it.

Yeah, that what I was also trying to point out. however, it would be good for the game if they play it the traditional way. besides, with the jump rule of being implemented, we are put in a clear disadvantage of not utilizing our most lethal skill (offensive/defensive kicking), which other foreign players cannot equalize. with the jump shot being used, all those hard work of classic safety skills would be put to waste.

I understand what you mean. Back in those days if you are just playing with friends for fun and hanging out, it's okay to play jump but if you're playing for money it's not legal. I remember, when someone plays a masse shot, we often remind the Spotter (referee) to check for jump, because if the cue ball so much as skips a millimeter, it's considered a jump and therefore a foul.
