Router mount

Looking for a router mount that would not be able to spin. There are two tracks in the cross slide, so has anyone made a mount that screws into both tracks? Two legs are better than one!

Are you talking about a Taig based lathe, like the cuesmith and a porter cable router? If so, contact Todd from Mid America

You become very tight for space when mounted that way.

Yup. (Thanks for enlightening me lol). Usually when pulling back the spring on the cross slide to move it all the way left for the next pass. I try to slowly uncompressed it but sometimes I’m not as careful and then I forget to check and expect it to cut at the same exact depth...but it moved and then %#&$ me I “am doing something wrong” again. I messed something up last night or the night before, grr. But I wondered if having the extra stability would also reduce any chatter that occasionally shows up...

I think my routers going bad anyway (started making a high pitched metallic scraping sound today, few days ago the on/off switch broke in the ON position) so I might just order a router/mount combo from Todd. I don’t currently do vertical cutting because it seemed to make the chatter worse, but the variable speed router may help solve/mask that problem for me.

Is your router mounted on a gold tool post?

This is the type I used when I ran a router on the cuesmith deluxe. It uses 2 screws and has 2 pins that prevent twisting. Disregard the center hole in the base....I made that for another application.
