I thought I read somewhere that a person can buy rubber to make his own bumpers. Does anyone know of such a compound and where I can get some? I need to custom make a part for a customer, not for his cue, but for his sail board. I figured I could make a mold out of Delrin and cast the new part. Any ideas? The piece is about 6" long and 1/2" in diameter, used to hold the sail upright but flexible enough to bend when he falls over. There are no replacement parts available and the board is useless without it. I can provide pics, if needed.
 
Also, you call em. They will (or have) send out a little chain with every type of material they offer. Its good stuff, just not cheap.

You can make a lot of nice colors. All shades of brown or reds what ever you like. I like dark gray but have made dark red that looked really nice. The molds can be made out of Delrin on the lathe in just a few minutes. The T type bumpers are the easiest but you can actually make anything. For the limited amount of bumpers the average cue maker uses it is no problem.

Macguy seems to be the resident expert on making custom bumpers. He also suggested in the past that this is a good source for all kinds of stock bumper types. You may find something that will work for you without having to custom make it.
