Rubbing the cue ball on the rail

if an opponent wants a ball cleaned he is supposed to ask the ref. and you are his ref. if playing him. and you should be the one to clean it if you have agreed to allow balls to be cleaned during a game or during the match.

In tournaments, I always have a cue towel Every time I get ball in hand, I wipe the cue ball. Never had a complaint

One of my inventions I'll never make is having the ball return mechanism also be a ball cleaning system.
