Rules for an APA league

Does that mean a team might be 22 total SL going into a tourney and turn into a 24 during the event?
Teams are comprised of up to 8 players. You can play any combination of 5 that total 23 or less. If you can't come up with a combination of 23 or below out of 8 players, you haven't done a good job balancing your team.

Yes, you could conceivably play one match with players totalling 22, and after that match, those same players could total 24. More reason to have a variety of skill levels available. And more reason to pay attention to the scoresheet when you get it, before you start the next round.

This is also a deterrent to teams who have players sandbag till the big tourney, then turn it on when it counts. In Vegas at Nationals (Worlds, I guess) if you have too many players go up in skill level while at that tourney, they will disqualify you. Again, trying to discourage sandbagging.

Yes. the apa is a disaster. if you care at all about fairness in skill levels and want your money not to be wasted entirely I would recommend you go bca or vnea. I played apa to hang out with my super hot teammates. Me my buddy and 5 smoking hot ladies. No other reason to go through apa crap ever again. But maybe you'll find it is a good fit for you.....Good luck friends. Don't tell me what I can eat!

Glad you've found a league that works for you. APA works well for me, and many others.

The food thing is room related, as has been pointed out here a few times, and can happen with any league. It's not an APA thing.
