Rules help please???

Hi,
I am trying to locate a CURRENT printable version of BCA (NOT BCA Pool League) 8 ball rules. Or perhaps a CURRENT WPA 8 ball rules would be fine. I found a 2008 WPA printable rules but not sure if that is still current.
Our local small town county pool leage voted this year to abandon the dinasoar rules they had for many, many years and opted to follow REGULAR BCA (again, NOT the bcapl rules).
I volunteered to print something out for them. I think the WPA is closer to regular BCA and would be fine? But, would like to find current version and/or current REGULAR BCA version to print.
Can you please help me? (I've tried the search and found nothing current)

Just a guess, but I think you should be looking for WPA rules.

BCA is all but defunct, merely a trade organization.

I'm sure someone will be along with a link, and an answer.
 
Go to the WPA web site rules page:

http://www.wpa-pool.com/web/the_rules_of_play

Click on tab # 1- General Rules, then click on the PDF icon on the right for printing.

Click on tab # 3 - 8 Ball Rules, then click the PDF icon on the right again for printing.

After you've done that, go to the blue task bar above, and under World Rules, click on 'Regulations.'

Click the PDF icon and print those as well.

You need all three for a proper set of 8 Ball rules.

The January, 2008 WPA rules that you found are the latest. The next revision is currently in progress, but it will be a while yet, and not much change is expected. As Fran said, you need several parts from the whole document. The "Download PDF" link at the top of the first page will give you most of the sections along with nine ball and black ball. It is missing the rules for 10 ball, but you probably won't need those. Besides that, you will need to get the "Regulations" which cover some details about how the rules should be applied and some other things like tournament admin. You may want to check out the Equipment Specifications as well.

The BCAPL rules are pretty close to the WPA rules but with some modifications for league play. They may fit you situation better than the WPA rules. Do you plan to play "all fouls" or "cue ball fouls only?"
