The samsara jump break also includes a separate dart handle, but does switching the shaft from butt to dart handle constitute a forfeit? Just wondering as I was considering purchasing one and don't want to find out the hard way.

I think the only thing that matters in most leagues is if you unscrew your playing cue's shaft from it's butt.

Breaking down your cue is only a forfeit during your opponent's shot. If you walk up to the table with the other handle, break down and switch handles, you're good in any tournament I've ever played in. They just don't want you sharking your opponent during a shot.

In the APA, you're not allowed to switch cues or shafts for jumping anyway, so it's a non-starter.

Breaking down your playing cue (not break cue or jump cue) is only a forfeit if your opponent is at the table AND he is on the hill and will win the match in the current inning if he runs out,
