What is the ruling on a ball hanging in a pocket, shooter hits cueball at the hanging ball it drops before cue gets there. Sounds silly but i saw it happen.

The shot is replayed. Put the hanging ball as close as you can get it without it falling in again. (This assumes the ball hung for more than the five seconds mentioned before.) Sometimes it's hard to reset the exact shot. Do the best you can.racefornine said:
If the ball was not part of the shot (the shooter was playing some other ball to some other pocket, and nothing went near the ball that dropped by itself), then the ball is re-hung and the shot is not replayed.
