Runde Cues

I recently acquired a Runde shaft from a fellow AZ member, and I'm dead convinced it's the cats pajamas for lack of a better term.

That being said I'm now interested in purchasing a Runde cue as well, being realistic though I'm not trying to pop 3 - 5K for a cue.. I'm a player not a collector (although that might change in the future). Does anyone know if he's still making cues? I'd be very interested in having a plain jane cue made or purchasing one if it fit my criteria.

Anyone know of any for sale around that range? Or how to get ahold of the maker himself?

I'm almost positive that Bob Runde is still making cues, but it's not a full time job for him. He plays a lot of golf when the weather permits and he works on cues when he has time. He recently did some shaft work for me and he built my 8 point cue in 2006 so I know he built cues last year.

I told ya it was a good playing shaft. I am glad that you like it as much as you do, good to hear. I thought the same as you when I put it on a schon I had... in a kind of lame sense it was like a realization of greatness.

There is a plain jane runde on ebay for a 700 reserve i think... I don't think it is a steel joint though. I have a cue very similar to it and if I may say, it has quite a nice hit and feel to it.

Did the finish stop lifting on the joint?

It hasn't gotten any worse, I'm going to get it refinished here in a little bit. I have to send the whole cue back to Schon for some other things, so I'm going to send that shaft with it.

"Realization of greatness" is a perfect way to describe it. I can't believe how great that shaft plays. Everyone that has tried it agrees, it literally is better then sliced bread. I'm usually not one to go ape shit over equipment, but that shaft has literally opened my eyes a bit.
