Runde era Schon cue question

I suggest you do a search here for "Runde era" as there has been more than one discussion on this topic. My understanding is there were some Schon cues made with CNC'd points while Bob was still there. If the cue was made while Bob was still at Schon, then technically it's a "Runde era" Schon. However, it may not have actually been made by Bob himself. Ditto what Newstroke said too. Contact Evan.

Regards,

Randy

I have had my schon for a number of years.. best i can date my cue is 91'

That being said Runde was still there and I have rounded points on mine...

A Schon dealer friend of mine has a runde from around 81 or 82 with floating inlaid points that are rounded. Heres how I was always told to spot a runde or at least runde era cue. The brown stich rings wich it has ,and the s from the word schon on the buttcap is curly. If you look at the newer ones it is not also the n is a little different too. Its a common misconseption that Bob didnt make any cues with rounded points but he did. It looks legit here is a link to an r catolog that you can compare for yourself .Hope this helps.

I have talked to Evan about this in the past. According to him the majority of R series cues were made with CNC points. That was a surprise to me.

I have one of each, a 1987 or so pointed model and a 1989/1990 rounded model. He made both.
