Yes, that was a lot of deflection. On a positive note, soft and medium were similar.seems like alot of deflection to me

my house pro has one and it sure "hits a ton" and i mean this in a positive wayDeflection never really bothered me. The shaft has the traditional "Bob Runde hit" while offering a bit lower deflection than a traditional maple shaft. Many people to this day still seek out "Runde era" Schons for the build quality and hit. This shaft gives you an incredible hit, lots of control with no fuss. I've found shorter ferrule shafts don't hit as solid (they do deflect less). Just my opinion though.
