Runde "Signature" Engraving

Can anyone tell me definitively what the "S" means on the cues that Bob Runde engraves like "Runde 05-S"?

I've heard/read that it means full spliced. But I don't think that can be since they have rings at the "A" joint. Could it mean short spliced versus doing the points with CNC and veneers (a la Josswest)?

Thanks.

It does mean spliced as opposed to CNC. I think they would command a little higher price.

Thanks, knnnyg! Those Wisconsin guys hit the links as soon as the last snow has melted - assuming they wait even that long! :p

We don't wait for the smow to melt, or we would never get to play; we just use orange balls.:D
Don't I know it! I lived in Milwaukee for two VERRRYYYYY LONNNNNG winters. On the first weekend in March, we drove south, almost to Illinois, to play a round of golf in what the weathermen described as "driving sleet".

We didn't have cabin fever or anything. No siree.

I understand that the "S" means spliced instead of CNC and the "S" cues have sharp even points. Some of his older cues without the "S" had a slightly rounded outside veneer at the very top of the points "CNC I think". I own an 06 Runde and it doesn't have the "S" and I was told by the man I bought the cue from that Bob Runde told him he stopped putting the "S" on his cues in 2006 and he's gone to spliced points (not full spliced since he does put a trim ring above the wrap on most of his cues) instead of CNC.

I believe this is the answer. It will be interesting to hear what knnnyg finds out directly from Bob. Thanks, SCCues!
