I was just watching DeLuna vs Chinakhov in the 2019 WPA Players Championship and it got me thinking. I have seen/heard little about Chinakhov since his 2019-2020 seasons. I hear about how Russia’s recent aggressions against Ukraine has affected Gorst and Tkatch but I never hear about Ruslan. Is he still playing competitively? What are some of his recent successes? I think he made an attempt at the 14.1 high run but I’ve heard nothing since.

His instagram and facebook, nothing since 2021.
42 weeks ago he said on Instagram "A friend sent me a picture to remind me a used to play pool"

Looks like he has retired to me.
 
he played the legends of pocket billiards 14.1 high run event late last year. december maybe. he is an army reservist, i know that much. worrying.

ruslan has the best straight pool patterns in my opinion, plays a beautiful game.
 
Ruslan is 30 now- possible he was conscripted into service in the Russian army reserve, hard to say.
 
No news on local scene either. Ruslan just got off the radar... I'm certain though it has nothing to do with military. Still somewhat worrying state of things for a player of such caliber.

If this is true then that's pretty ominous.
 
Ruslan made some high run attempts at the world record a couple years ago at my event The Legends Of Pocket Billiards. He only had 9 innings and he ran 268 twice and a 210 was his top 3 high runs. I hope he gets in better health and is able to play again. He is a super nice guy with a ton of talent and a huge heart.
