I received a S&S cue last week from someone on here and did some digging for info, but came up dry so I talked to the man himself. While he is a very nice guy, which is rare in cue-makers, his work really doesn't take a back seat to his personality. When I initially tried the cue out I thought to myself " OK, it will be yet another cue I trade off for something". When I was unable to trade it because nobody knew what it was, I got frustrated and decided to find some info on them somewhere. I spoke to multiple people about them, and was convinced to give it an honest chance and go play with it again. Now, I've never liked ivory ferrules because I was always told they were fairly brittle, but I was somehow convinced to use this cue like any other and see what happens. I would like to again thank Nick for his little push for me to actually USE this cue. My first impression of the cue was wrong, ivory is not that easy to break. My cue has 2 shafts with ivory ferrules, and ivory 1/2 joint, figured woods, and 6 cocobolo points. I'm not sure what Paul is doing in his cues as I'm no cue builder, but for me it plays very well as it is. Feedback is awesome, and as long as my follow-through stays true this cue does what I'm looking for it to do with the cueball. I'm a player who has usually been able to play with anything decent, so within 30 minutes of using it I was practically begging guys to gamble. LOL To my dismay I was refused by 2. I spoke to Paul today about another cue he has in stock and am having that one shipped to my house. Paul is going to venture out in a blizzard tomorrow to ship me the cue. It's a tulipwood plain jane with black leather wrap. I can assure you that if it plays anything like my ivory jointed S&S cue, it will be a necessary tool in my bag. This one is elforyn over stainless at the joint...Anyone wanting details regarding anything about these cues that I can possibly answer, hit me up. I'll be glad to help promote his work, but NO I don't have any for sale. I'm keeping what works for me these days...Good luck finding YOUR "magic wand"!!
