Safe for pool cues?

Three different cue sellers (CA & NV) that I know, keep their top cues ...some in trays and some stand up...in an old bank safe!!! All three places have no special temperature control but they do keep the temps constant in the rooms.

Hi Eydie, I have a friend that keeps his in one of these. They start at $299. Do a Google search for gun safes.

How bout one of them Snap-On tool chests with the sliding draws. Very durable and safe, and not the first place to look for a 10,000 dollar cue.

I will get a safe someday. When I do it will be a decent gun safe. Guns, cues, etc... will go in. Gun safes have good temperature protection (although I would expect cues to be much more sensitive) and hold long items.

They can haul a small safe off and crack it later. Check out a bank safe deposit vault, they have larger boxes. Build a false wall with your cues in a rack behind it. If they cannot find them, they cannot steal them. Then you have them at home and they are then safe. :)

At some point it is easier just to call your insurance agent and go buy new cues. Your idea is past that point. :)

I guess it would be different if I had a huge collection of top collectors cues by deceased makers. I don't. I never will. Someday I will have a few Josswests/Tad/Southwest cues, but I won't remodel a house for them. Insurance can cover them. The half dozen sticks I have now can be replaced. Stuff happens. But a gun safe that offers fire protection stops 99.9% of burglars. Some 19 y/o crackhead will take the stuff easy to carry and can't figure out how to move a safe and doesn't have the energy to try.
