Safety First

Yeah that looked like It was setup, the blade was raised way higher then needed too, and the thumb looked placed out there on purpose. I like how he said get off me about It for a while though, and happy B-day. That part seemed to add to the reality.

I was standing right next to My shop teacher in junior high, and watched him go through 4 fingers. Every one else was laughing, and as much as I was a cutup Myself, I never could understand what they thought was so funny. I can still remember Standing right next to him and seeing It close up, and It was really shocking to me at the time. It was the first time I ever heard him use a swear word.

I've had an accident with a nnew benchsaw, my left hand was holding the wood on top and was making a notch cut and the wood kicked out and my hand went into the top of the blade. I was very lucky that my fingers rode the top of the blade and only sliced the sides and only shaved the bones on the side and didn't cut off the fingers. I am usually very safe ( gew up as a carpenters son) but one boneheaded move and was out of work for 2 weeks, and alot wiser.
You can never be to safe. How many have left the chuck key in their lathe chuck and turned it on? I've done a couple times and had it whizz by my head.
