Great to see you in action at the US open this past year keith, great year for you! hope the run keeps going. I was wondering if you have ever played with or traveled with a guy from the St. Louis named Rich Sager? I know he did the circuit all around the area awhile back, just wonderin if you 2 matched up. or have you matched up with any other St. Louis locals

I know Rich Sager, but we never really matched up before. I grew up with a kid from California that now lives in St. Louis. His name is Dean Deforest. I haven't seen Dean in probably 6 or 7 years. We used to play all the time together when we were kids, and if you see him, tell him I said hello.

i know dean and see him occasionally in Illinois at some local tournaments. Played against him in a league finals out of Teachers in St. Peters. Great player and has alot of good tales. Definetly tell him you said hello....thanks Keith.

Keith: Dizzy Dean was posting on billiardsdigest.com about a year ago or so. I never go there anymore, so who knows, maybe he's still posting on their board.

Pool in St. Louis

Rich Sager is a dynamite player; I saw him in a tournament over at Sharky's and was super impressed, but from what I hear about Keith on a bar box, I don't know if Rich wants any.

Keith, do you know why St. Louis is such a ghost town for road players and travelling pros? I feel like there are a lot of guys to play, Andy Quinn, Turbrock, and Danny Hill, to name a few. Are there just easier games for more money in other places or what?

St. Louis does have a hotbed of action, including all the aforementioned names (sager, quinn, terbrock, hill) and players like Little Pat, and some of the players that travel up from other cities in MO...like SNooker Jon from the lake, Darren Everett, and Martin Warren (always in a game somewhere). Too bad alot of road players pass this city by, although Bassavich did pretty well here a few years back, and kirkwood and ashcraft kinda cleaned up around MO about 5 months ago.

Every town has action, those guys you mentioned are shortstops, basically. I meant that bigger names, like Keith, do not seem to stop in StL. I remember awhile back Cliff Joyner was around for awhile, Wade Crane made a brief stop, some guys say Mark Jarvis was in town for a few days, but mostly pros only grace Stl in visits that are short in duration and EXTREMELY far apart. Gabe Owen recently played Lutman over at Sharky's but in St. Louis proper, nothing.

how did gabe come out w/gary? didn't know about that game. I know you were talking about the big dawg road players, and not the local shortstops, but these guys are willing to gamble w/the right weight.

I believe, and I am not super sure, that Gabe gave Gary the eight and the break and stuck Gary straight up in the air. Afterwards, I heard Gary paid Nick Varner to help with Gary's break. I guess Gary wasn't breaking well enough to take advantage of his spot. But for Gabe, who no doubt breaks well, to give up the break...well that is a big spot in my opinon b/c he can never string racks together.
