Can someone tell me what they think of Samsara cues as far as hit goes? To what other cues would you compare their playability? I love their design aesthetic but have'nt had the opportunity to play with one, and I am reluctant to buy based on looks alone.

I had a $1,600 one. I would suggest you play with one before plunking down your money. They do look very nice!!
Don
This is not to say you wouldn't love it.

Their stock shafts are very stiff. If you like it stiff, you'll like their shafts.
Very well-executed points and inlays.

Samsara cues art is most definitely distinctive and their cues play awesome!

I have a Samsara cue and really like the hit of the cue. I have played with many types of cue, but am not sure what I would compare the hit too. I do agree that the shafts are stiff and just take a little getting use to.

I was thinking about selling the cue, but decided to hold on to it because I am just use to it and I think it is an amazing cue - I have seen no cue maker fade there points into the wood like Dave and Jim do.

Oh, and another reason why I am happy with the cue is because Jim was nice enough to replace a shaft that had a hairline crack in it free of charge...that just shows that they stand behind their product and care about their customers...

Wish I could tell you how they hit, but they are definate works of art. One of the most beautiful cues I have seen.

Thanks for the opinions, I guess I will have to try one out. If you want to see how distinctive Samsara's designs can get, check out these wild cues: http://www.samsaracues.com/gallery2.htm
Those cues are wild. But, one must question, with that much glue and inlay in them, is there any reasonance left in the cue?
I prefer a simpler one with regular points and some inlays. I don not like inlaying a cue up to a point where it becomes pieces glued together.
But, if one likes hanging a cue on the wall and admiring it, those look pretty.
