What led to the creation of so many "sanctioning" bodies? It seemed through the fifty's and sixty's the BCA was the primary entity.Doesn't this diversity just cause separation in the sport? Will there ever be a tournament that will unify a national championship?

You must be new 'round these parts. :D

I definitely agree, however, and have written about it extensively on this forum, sometimes at the risk of being flamed by the blue bloods. :embarrassed2:

Pool is more like boxing in that respect. We need a Don King...oh, wait we had a KT.

BTW, Boxing isn't even close to what it was in the 70's, 80's, and early 90's. Neither is horse racing and a lot of other American sports. Things change and we are in a time of extraordinary change. Technology and diversity of activities continues to increase. Personal attention is even more difficult to control. Remember CBS, ABC and NBC? How many TV stations do we have now? How many video games are at a cult status? Times they are a changin' my friend. Pool may die altogether one day.

Greed. The BCA and VNEA were doing great until another "governing body" decided to take over American pool leagues and create a monopoly. Money talks. I like the leagues that cooperate enough to use the same World Standardized Rules.
