Well, there was 18guys at the tournament on the 17th, alot of the bigger named guys who i was expecting to show up didnt. But oh well.

It was a good tournament, though, there was 7 or 8 local guys in the tournament, and several of them placed in the top 10.

I didnt know any of the bigger named guys, one of them was a Dealer for Gilbert cues, and of course i had to play him first, and well i got three shots in 9 games, i mean this guy was making 3 balls on the break almost everytime, and had easy run outs too. So that was a interesting experience lol.

The second guy, i played, his name was Jeff R. didnt know his last name, but we was 3-3 and he ended up winning 9-3. i just fell apart and either couldnt make a easy shot, or i would leave myself in bad position. but i should have won. but anyways.

But hopefully the next time the tournament comes around, there will be more

Oh yea, and i have a new jump break,, hehehehe its my new toy my Omen.

Its a nice jump break, i had to part with my Schon though lol.

But i got my Omen from my friend Dirk Vander Ploeg, so now he has his Schon and mine too lol.

Hi Dave,

I'm sorry the tournament didn't turn out better. At least they still had it.

Did you learn anything while you were playing the first guy. Sometimes you can learn alot by watching the other person not miss a ball. You have to get past being angry about not getting a shot, but you can learn something.

Don't beat yourself up too bad about your second match. Those things happen to everyone. Maybe next time you feel that you can't make an easy shot or things are going bad, take a little extra time on the shot. Make sure you are lined up right, aimed right and comfortable with the shot. Another thing that sounds easy but is one of the hardest things is again, do not get upset. Frustration is everyone's own worst enemy.

So another new cue?? I'm glad you like this one. I have known Dirk for a long time. Good to hear he is still playing.

Good luck with your new cue/toy. Talk to you soon.

Take care,
Sarah

Sarah,

The first guy i played, well i honestly didnt learn alot, from him because, after the break, all of his shots where easy. I mean its kinda tough to learn from someone who drops 3 on the break almost everytime and the leaves the other 6 balls for straight in shots. But it did make me realize that the break is a major part of the game.

And honestly i didnt even get upset the whole day long, even when i played the first guy. Although i everytime i did miss a easy shot, i was saying " Well thats interesting " or " Well thats special " lol

Now what did frustrate me was right after that tournament a couple days later, i go n play in the weekly tournament they have there, i go win, win, loss, win, win, loss lol. And my two loss's where to people i normally beat.lol

But since that tournament, i have been playing alot better, and playing position alot better too.

Oh yea,,,, and about Dirk,,,, girl if you have any single ladie friends who shoot pool, u need to send them up here, cuz me and my friends are having some major issues trying to get Dirk a women lol. Now as i always say, Dirk needs a women to corrupt him lol. Or heck send the single women myway lol i am single

And yes i like my new Toy lol it breaks the rack really nice :)

And yes Dirk is still playing, and when ever i play against him, i sit there ( alot ) and watch cuz he is amazing.

Talk about your learning...

I played David Gutierrez in the SE Open J Pechaur Tour this last weekend in Gulfport, MS.

I learned something, if you miss... you lose. He beat me 7 - 1.

Second day, races increased to 9.

Tommy Kennedy had David down 6-0. David finally got a shot and came back with 8 games straight, finally winning 9-8.
