Sarah won her first round v. Lisa d'atri and faced a formidable Kim Shaw in the 2nd. Kim won.

Sarah faced Terri Mason in the next round.

We were late arriving to Sarah's match vs. T. Mason and were devastated to find Sarah down 5-0. After we found our sweating perches along the rail we were pleased to witness one of the best comebacks I have seen.

Sarah found her stroke. She played lights out from that point. It was a race to 9 and somewhere around 7-4 Sarah snapped a 9-ball.

Sarah made one mistake friom that point. Shooting lefty on an easy 8-9 out she miscued and I thought it was over.

Fortunately for the sweaters from Cincy and Illinois and AZB, T. Mason found herself on the hill but was not able to finish. From that point T. Mason made a couple of mistakes but Sarah played flawlessly.

A comeback from 5-0 and also from 8-5 (IIRC). It was quite thrilling and made my whole trip worthwhile.

After the match I found Sarah and Deanna hanging out in the hallway with very happy looks on both their faces and I just had to give them both congratulatory hugs,

Sarah beat V. Paski the next round. I watched another match because I figured Sarah could beat her going away.

The next match was against T. Nelson and I will try to post a write-up about that tomorrow.

Thanks Wally.

I have to say Terri plays really well. She didn't make any mistakes until she was up 6-0. When I was down 5-0 I took my break and took a trip to the bathroom and had a little talk with myself. I just needed her to make one mistake. Lucky for me, she finally did. I can't say it was all skill or even good play that made a comeback. I would say there was alot of luck involved. I miscued on the 8 and I thought it was over. Then when it was 8-6, I missed a 9ball. Luckily I left it a bit tough. The 9ball break came at 8-7 and made it 8-8. Terri played a great safe hill-hill and left me a jump shot. I missed it and thought it was over. The miscue on the 8 came back around, she miscued this time though. As I said, there was alot of luck involved.

I have to say that at this tournament I learned alot about myself. For the past year or so I have been giving up on myself when I'm down. There has been no fight left in me. This tournament I made a few comebacks and never looked at things negatively and just looked to get another chance at the table. I believe this is a step that I have needed to take for a long time.

Thanks again Wally and everyone else.

Thanks for the clarification. I was hoping you would come in and clean up the loose ends (Unlike williebetmore, I did not take notes :D )

A 9-ball snap to bring you to the hill was very exciting. No wonder I was doing the shimmy-shimmy-shake on the rail.

:D :D :D :D

Sarah you played very very well against all opponents. You played great and came back against T. Mason,

you played flawlessly and got past T. Nelson

and you played extremely well against Allison Fisher. If not for the 2 fluke scratches on your breaks you cold have easily been 7-7 vs. her.

Watching that comeback was quite exciting. I was a bit distractred by the woofing of some local players lookin to make a game. I gotta remember to bring a seat cushion next time as I couldnt feel my butt for a while. Or maybe save my money for a cushy vip seat. Always fun to hear sarah is comin to town.

Thanks shaggy. Did any action take off from the woofing? I saw all the local players there that night. The bleachers do kinda suck there...thank god I have enough padding!

Want a one-pocket rematch anytime soon? I'm still in town.

Sarah

Clayton and Mike from champ. left to go play. I would guess clayton won. Mike the painter wanted to play the other mike but dunklin didnt feel like it. I'll take one pocket anytime, the earlier the better. I get up to early to hang in there so late at night. I got lucky last time we played.

You should hit decatur up on sunday night or afternoon. 230 @starship race to 4. 900 @ brews and cues race to 4(barbox, open tables, decent side action). 10 and 5 entry both add 3/player. Im preatty sure theyre open tournys.
