Good Deal

You did good. One of my all time favorite movies and the best pool movie ever. My older brother took me to see that movie when I was 10 yrs. old.
I never forget it. I was hooked on pool after watching that.
My favorite scene is when Fast Eddie tells Bert that he has been sitting in that same spot for hours and to move. Bert gets up and moves the chair about 3 inches and sits back down. How great was that.
Hey, whats the shirt look like?

yeah, that scene is great. it immediately develops Burt's character as a no-nonsense guy. but holy crap, i forgot how depressing is this movie . lol... this particular cd supposedly has 'bonus features' like; paul newman commentary and commentary on how to make the trick shots. haven't gotten to the end yet though... straighman; if you don't already have it, i'll burn you a copy.

the pool shirt rocks. i'll up a pic soon. i'm putting a new differential in my truck and that's taking up all of my time and energy so it might be a while. the 4.56 gears and cover weigh 110lbs! getting the old gears off was easy but getting the new one on is going to be a trick....

Thanks

Thanks for offering a copy but I have a old VHS video and a DVD of it.
The other line in the movie that is so great is: When Eddie tells Fats
"even if you beat me, you know that I am still better then you"

yeah, and Burt says to fats, "stick with this kid, he's a looser."

another great line by Eddie when he reconsiders Burt's 75% / 25% offer; "25% of somethin big is better than 100% of nuthin."

LOL.... Yea, I had forgot about those lines. They are great lines too. What a movie.
Plus, their playing straight pool, can't get any better then that. I can't tell you how many times over the years. I have walked in my game room and took a ball in my hand rolling it real hard down the rail and saying Clean good drop pockets like Eddie did when he first walked into Ames.

mike: that movie is like the old twilight zone episodes that delve into the human psyche. unfortunately, the current movie going public demands action packed, 'thrillers'.

the ONLY problem with that film is that they had to splice in some 'trick shots' which are almost never a part of 14.1. it's a concession that we pool players must overlook. however, they did show some safety play culminating in mosconi's famous clearance-shot, dead-ball-in-the-pack, that he used to do in exhibitions. it's almost impossible to see but willie did it to demonstrate hidden shot possibilities.
