Anyone have any information on Sawdust custom cues? I'm almost ready to pull the trigger on one for $750. But I'm nervous about the quality and if the cue will warp on me and the wood will shrink on me within a year of purchase?
The cue maker is out of Singapore and not much reviews I can find on his cues. I live in the U.S.
Anyone own one of his cues? Any issues with rings popping or warpage yet? Thanks

Don't think they've been out long enough for some of these issues to arise. They look great and buyers seem to be happy with both the cue and the guy behind them. If you FB you might try contacting some owners. https://www.facebook.com/sawdustcues/reviews/?ref=page_internal

I just bought one from Jack Tan and sawdust cues, I was nervous to be honest, but his service was top notch. The cue was just as described. I got a carbon fiber shaft and one wood shaft, both with matching rings and an 8in extension. He shipped it from Singapore and I received it in less than a week here in Texas.

I just got the cue last week. Everything is top notch and an amazing value. I will say the carbon fiber shaft is not low deflection, and he told me that, that they don’t hollow them out. Which is what i wanted as I have a ob pro shaft and cuetec 15k synergy carbon fiber shaft with the same joint.

I highly recommend sawdust. I’m considering getting another cue because i feel like his prices will start to go up. Jack was super responsive through Facebook messenger (granted the time difference would delay some responses between us).

we will see how it holds up, but the quality so far seems top notch.

Can you tell me what shipping method he used to sending you your cue. In other words like DHL or UPS.
He used UPS, gave me a tracking number as soon as it was shipped. It took 4 or 5 days to get from Singapore to Texas. Cue was packaged very safely and protected. No dents or dings or blemishes. I used PayPal to pay him and was nervous because I did the friends and family, but everything went super smoothly.

I wonder if “Jack Tan” learned from “Mike Lee?”

Seems like Passion fell off the map when Sawdust popped-up.

I have my theories.

Thanks. I have to send something to Singapore in the next few days and am a little nervous. I was looking at DHL or FEDX like over night but don't know. The quicker the better. I got a SW and they insisted over night delivery. I doubt I would want a cue shipped again anything but overnight.

On the verge of pulling the trigger on a sawdust….do you all recommend?
I bought one off of e bay - I like the cue - I had to send the two maple shafts out to be turned down - they were tapered like 3 cushion shafts - conical and thick / over 13MM - Jack now makes regular maple shafts at 12.7 MM with a pro taper / he also has kielwood and CF shafts. My cue was a few years old but like new- I chose a no wrap cue as the Asian leather wrapped cues tend to be too slick for my liking. Cue hits real nice - firm, yet responsive. My cue has a very neutral balance due to the birds eye maple handle - I believe that his leather wrapped cues are more forward balance because he makes those handles slimmer than his no wrap cues. The construction is very good - not as finely detailed as, the best American makers today like Dzuricky, Tascarella, etc - but for the money it is a very good cue purchase IMO

I will add that Jack Tan is very, very good at communication with buyers - that means a lot when you are dealing with independent business people who request deposits, etc. and are doing custom work for you. I communicated with him via Facebook - you would think that he was right next door and not thousands of miles away in Singapore - he is very responsive! I spoke to him several times about his cues before buying a used one online.

I received my Sawdust cue wood shafts back from Troy Downey at Muellers- I had him retaper both maple shafts to 12.5 - first 14 inches on the shaft. The cue plays, very, very solid. I also had Troy install new XTC ferrules and Ultraskin Ivory S tips- This totally new shaft combo is incredible on the Sawdust cue- rates up there with any custom cue now in terms of hit and response - all for only $40 a shaft- great pricing at Muellers.

That price is incredible…..$40 for a shaft retaper, new ferrule, and tip seems like the bargain of the century.

Nice looking cues, seem to be of higher quality build than the ones form the other cheaper makers like Joel Dadivas. My son and I were poking around maybe getting one but we ended up with a bunch of other cues so never got a Sawdust.
