Hello,
My name is Jim Lee (JL Cues) and I am a cuebuilder from Milan , In.
I noticed my good friend Bob introduced me and had several hello's back welcoming me to AZ.
Just wanted to say hello and tell you a little about me and how I got started.
I started repairing cues about 13 years ago by hand. I had no lathe but the area I live in had no one to put tips on. So I started doing tips. That moved on and did well so I purchased a wood lathe and started doing ferrules and shaft cleaning.
Then when I left a long time job I had a friend that was building cues and talked me into getting a lathe for cues. So I did and have been building a little here and there for about 5 years.
This friend was Madison Bob Griffen. Through the years Bob has helped me a ton a showed me tips and technics to better me as a cue builder and has been one heck of a good friend too.
It sounds like , I know, that Bob is god to me but really I have watched Bob through the years build better and better cues through trial and error with no help from anyone. Knowing this Bob helps me all the time on the building of lots of my own stuff and has taught me through the years that caring about what you put up for sale and having your name on it is the most important thing. You can build a very nice looking cue but if it does't play like it looks it reflects on the builder.
With this from Bob and the passion I have to one day build that awesome , perfect cue I keep building. I am not a huge dealer or the best in any way at cue building but I can say , the cues I build and let out into the world are the very best today I can build and the quality is the same. I love to build and watch the look on other peoples face when they like the feel , the look , and how my cue plays.
Once again , Bob turned me on to AZ and thought it could help me that much more with the knowledge and experience that is here. I do have lots to learn , maybe you all could help sometime to better me as a builder and a player when he plays with my next cue, be happier.
Thanks for your time ,
And thanks to Bob for all the guidence and friendship,
Jim Lee ( JL Cues)
