This is a formal announcement for anyone intersted in attending dinner at Sullivan's on Friday, March 20th, 2009...during the Super Billiards Expo in Valley Forge, PA.

I'm posting this in this section, because it tends to be one of the more civilized sections of the forums and its where I expect to get the least amount of grief for being off topic. LOL It's also something that started in this forum as compliment to so many people's generous involvement in bringing Alton Takata to the Expo from Hawaii.

I wanted to put together a dinner for the purposes of providing an atmosphere for everyone to get together over some drinks, cigars, and one fine ass meal...away from the pooltables and dealer/cuemaker exhibits. This is of course open to anyone attending the show. I just ask everyone be on their best behavior, and have a good time.

I know the Expo is months away...but the event is only 4 days long, and with events, travel, and everything else...it's very necessary to plan something like this with as much advance preparation as can be afforded.

Monday through Friday, the dining area doesn't take seating until 5:30. The bar area, however, is open from 11 A.M. through closing. This place tends to get jammed up fast on Fridays and Saturdays. My intentions are to either book the library in the back of the restaurant...or we can just wing it at the bar. Which route will depend on how many plan on attending. For the time being...I plan on having things kick off at 4PM. We can start in the bar, and carry on to the dining room when it's open if necessary. If the turnout is on the soft side...we could just very well hole up in the bar for the duration.

Commitments to attend should be posted publicly. I think this will give everyone an idea of whom they can reasonably expect to see. :-) Any other questions can be directed to me via PM, or call me at 610.812.5644

I've provided a link below to Sullivan's that give directions, and contact information for the location in King of Prussia. It's about 5-7 minutes from the Expo, and they do provide valet parking.

I hope tons of you can come along. I'd love for this to be something we can carry on for years ahead.

I AM...however...going to request a $50 deposit for all that plan to attend. When you arrive at the dinner event...this will be refunded to you. If you don't attend...it'll go to Sullivan's. Payment must be made by February 14th. My PayPal address is haydendodgemccall@gmail.com When payment has been remitted, I will mark you as "paid" on the roster in the first post of this thread. This will be cut off at 90 people max. Anyone not commited by February 14th cannot be guaranteed seating in our area. [/QUOTE

I will post this on the other thread as well. I will be in my booth untill 8pm then I just have to put my cues up for the evening and I will be ready to go. I will have enough room in my car for 3 others so if anyone needs a ride I will be happy to meet people in the hotel lobby and drive us there and back. Chris.

This sounds like a good idea! You can count me in for the dinner. However I haven't had a drink in over 5 years, so I will pass on the bar scene!

Thanks!

Where we're going to be congregating is seperate from the bar. :-) We won't put you in any position to mess with the good thing you've got goin' on brother. I look forward to seeing you there. :-)

23 already. I'm thinking we're going to definitely require the library. I'm going to make a phone call tomorrow and see if they require any kinda deposit for reserving that kinda space on a Friday evening.

Sullivan's 4 Dinner

If you don't mind I would like to be included. It would give me a chance to introduce myself to a whole lot of interesting AZ posters. I, like Chris Byrne, will be working an ICA booth until about 8PM. Maybe I can hitch a ride with him, since I'm not familiar with Sullivan's location. I usually crash at night at the EXPO and haven't ventured out except to the Fox and Hound. Hope to see you all there.

I also would like to be included in the list, might not make it for dinner, but def try to get there depending on how well I am playing and if I have to play the night round or not.

Library is booked. The special events coordinator says the space handles up to 90 people...so we have plenty of room to grow. They're looking forward to having us. She says there's no need pay a deposit...as long as we don't bail out. She's sending me a banquet menu...but I think it'll be easier if everyone just does their own thing as they come and go. Thoughts?

Ok. :-) We're all set. I spoke with Erin...and here's the skinny. We have the library reserved...no cost/deposit required. All she's asking is that we have a firm commitment on attendance...as they are, on good faith, reserving 1/4 of the restaurant for us on this date. She has been awesome in accomodating us. They are ok with us filtering in at various times. When you arrive...tell the host/hostess at the concierge/front desk that you are there for the Valley Forge Super Billiards Expo event...and you'll be brough to our area. Everyone will be seated at tables of six...and checks will be provided to each table. We have no menu restrictions. I set it up this way so that instead of being treated as one large party of 90...we'll be treated as multiple parties of 6. This way we don't have to reduce the menu. Everything's game. I AM...however...going to request a $50 deposit for all that plan to attend. When you arrive at the dinner event...this will be refunded to you. If you don't attend...it'll go to Sullivan's. Most important...if your name is not on the list of attendees...if you did not put in your deposit...you will not be seated with us. That's not to say that you can't possibly get a table elsewhere in the restaurant, or patronize the bar.

I don't anticipate this being a problem...if it is...let me know and I'll work something out with you on an individual basis. I want everyone to attend...but I also want everone to be cognizant of the effort, leeway, and lattitude being extended to us from thes folks.

Payment must be made by February 20th. My PayPal address is haydendodgemccall@gmail.com When payment has been remitted, I will mark you as "paid" on the roster in the first post of this thread. I thank everyone in advance for their understanding as this event has evolved in such a short period of time. :-) I can't wait. I'm dyin' for a Kansas City strip, a lobster tail, mushroom caps, and a bottle of Opus One, and a glass of King Louis

Do I need to send a deposit?

Everyone planning on attending needs to send a deposit. :-) Deposit is $50. It will be refunded to those whom attend. For those that don't...it'll go to Sullivan's. It was part of the deal I made with them since they're putting aside 1/3 of the total dining area aside for us on a Friday night. My paypal address is haydendodgemccall@gmail.com
