Schön '93 shaft on CX-01

A good day to you all and apologies if this question has been answered before, but it seems there is some discrepency regarding the "right answer"

I recently acquired a Schön CX-01 which has a late model 13mm regular shaft, and I do not like it:)
There is a Schön '93 shaft for sale (micarta ferrule, horizontal logo on the collar) that I'm interested in buying.
Decided to pick up the game after 6/7 years of absence, so I wanted a simple but high quality cue.
Deflection is not "really" a thing, but in all honesty: it's gonna be an old and respected Schön shaft or a Mezz WX-UJ (just because I played with Mezz before and really love it)

My question is: will the '93 shaft fit my newer Schön butt? I read through a lot of posts about questions regarding the 5/16*14 pin and insert compatibily of recent and older Schön models, and i'm not convinced everybody is on the same page about this:)

Thanks a lot!

The biggest descrepumpsy is which Joint screw Schon used at that time. The below picture is of a Schon with a smaller 5/16x14 joint screw.
The smaller joint screw was turned down at the front like the picture. The shaft for this would usually bind when trying to put it on a standard 5/16x14 joint screw. The O. D. Of the brass insert should still be around .528/.530.
Solution if it binds, is to feed a standard sized tap into the insert.

Thank you very much Michael!
Seems a bit of a risk to buy, considering the seller can't tell me enough about this shaft to rule out what you described.

Personally I'm not a fan of altering the insert, especially with materials of this age. Not to discredit the skills of a ceumaker but there are risk involved.

So.....Mezz it is:)

What Coats posted is spot on. Just need the tap. No altering of the hole at all.

I have many Schons, and while I like Schons shafts, and they are quite consistent, I use Jacoby's Ultra shafts on them. They are a great shaft for Schon cues if that is something you would be interested in. Just another thought. I also have turned down a couple of my Schon shafts a bit to my liking, and after finding a taper that worked for me, like them also.
