Yes, I do. They are a very good cue for the money. I've bought and tried other cues, but I always end up going back to the Schmelke. The one I bought came with a 10mm shaft, so I have bought a couple of others for it. The one I end up using the most is a laminated shaft that I bought from American Cowboy Billiards, the Sharpshooter. It seems to play better than the laminated shaft I bought from Schmelke.

I've sold lots of Schmelke's over the years through my employer Billiards & Sports. They are mostly pretty basic in design but a great value if your wanting to keep to under a $200 budget. The majority of their cues are made from Cocobolo, Bacote, & Rosewood. They do alot of models without any linen wraps. And their shaft tapers tend to be on the short thicker side of things. If you get one of their exotic hardwood models and combine it with their Super Brass Joint design which they are famous for, you will get an incredibly stiff hitting cue.

My only complaint is that they do not do much in the way of tip shaping on their factory tips.

Overall they are an excellent value for a cue buyer on a budget and wanting something stiff in shooting action and simple in design.

i know someone who uses a schmelke as a break cue. i don't know if it was a break cue or not, but that baby had a ton of smack to it. it was very light but with a MASSIVE brass joint that was almost 2" long.

The Schmelke I had was 23 oz., HUGE brass joint, with a parabolic shaft. It was my break cue for a long time, once I bought my Heubler.

Once I figured out that speed of the cue was the key to a controlable break, I gave it away.

Disappointingly, I know what happened to the demise of the cue.

I realize now that a heavier cue, with a solid construction, is more ment for the muscle bound that like to enjoy pool too.

Sorry, I digress.

Edit: fixed a spelling error

I won one that was first prize in a local charity APA tournament (all proceeds wen to the familyof a stabbing victim that used to play APA in our area).

Only hit with it once or twice then gave it to a good friend who needed a cue.

My friend has one. It sort of reminds me of my McDermott (Solid dark stained wood) with a mainly white with blue dots for the wrap. It's also 21oz. It has the skinniest but I have ever seen on a cue.
