Schmelke or Viking?

A question for those of you who are familiar with either the Schmelke M020 or the Viking G01. If you had to chose one which would it be?

I've been reading reviews of both and right now I could flip a coin. I wont be able to shoot with either before ordering so I have to go by word of mouth. Thanks for your advice....

Don't know the particular models, but my first cue for 12 years was a plain Jane Viking that I only got rid of after getting GAS for new cues. GAS, generally associated with guitars means Gear Acquisition Syndrome.

Viking would get my vote of the two, plus I believe they have a lifetime warranty including warpage.

I have a bad case of GAS! Will it pass?

Oh... go with the Viking.

Thanks I think I'll go with the Viking. I know the G01 is the least expensive cue Viking makes but all I need right now is a plane jane that shoots well and I think it looks pretty good in the coffee stain.

I can't speak to the Schmelke, but I have been shooting with a Viking for a few years now. They are well built cues, and transmit feel pretty well.

I think the only thing I don't care for is that the shaft on mine is a little bit whippy, but I had my shaft turned down a bit. On other Vikings I have tried, as well as a lot of other brands in the lower-end production range, shafts tend to be slightly whippy, but you may not even notice it on a stock shaft, and it will still play fine if you do notice it. I think it's tough to avoid on lower end cues.

I think you will be happy with your new cue.
