Schmelke Ricochet Carbon Fiber Shaft Feedback?

Good evening folks.

I would like to try a carbon fiber shaft. I have been playing with Z2, an OB2 and a Schmelke Kielwood shaft. Last week I spoke to David and he offered me a slightly customized cue with a Ricochet carbon fiber shaft, at a super bang for the buck deal, which is somewhat important for me in this stage of my life and I like to support American makers, especially if there are quality made and affordable. I searched the forum but the threads are older and would like to see if anybody has had any recent experience with said shaft.

If it's not worth trying, I will probably buy a Revo 11.8 uni-loc to use with my Predator sneaky pete and call it a day.

They don't even list them anymore. Its gonna be like every other small outfit cf shaft: they buy tubes and finish them. My guess is it will play like every other shaft in that category like Rhino, Raven, Crical, etc.

I too noticed that they are not available for purchase on their website. Not sure if they discontinued them and are selling what they have left to customers that call and ask for them.

Indeed. David and I spoke a few weeks ago about one of their custom line cues with the Ricochet carbon fiber shaft. He was not able to accomodate my request for a QR joint pin, my guess is that the CF shafts they have in stock are ready for a different kind of joint pin, but he did accomodate my requests for a black linen wrap, extension buttcap and shaft tip diameter. Should be a good looking, vintage inspired cue with a "modern" twist.

Cue should be here tomorrow.
