that's because Schmelke has more than one joint, they have at least 5 that I recall. And they are not all the same, thus folks just assume they are ??
But a 3/8-10 Schmelke will take an OB 3/8- 10 pin like butter on bread![]()
When I ordered my M-Series SHEDUA from SCHMELKE, I used their "Build A Cue”; not their words for the software but the name is appropriate. When building an M-Series cue, one is given options of the joint. There were six options and I researched all of them. I chose the 3/8-inch X 10 TPI. I was cautioned by an owner of a SCHMELKE cue (with the 3/8-inch X 10 TPI pin), that his cue was large at the joint.
He advised me to ask David SCHMELKE to make my cue 0.840-inch at the joint, which I have done. An 0.840-inch joint would make it easier to fit a non SCHMELKE shaft onto my SHEDUA cue with a smooth fit.
