Schmelke Mexican Bocote Custom. Schmelke is one of the great heritage American cue companies and suppliers of cue parts. I wanted to offer an excellent but inexpensive USA made cue with tremendous value. I asked Dave Schmelke to make these wrapless Mexican Bocote merry widow cues offered here to my specifications. I bought one for myself first to make sure I liked the cue. I had intended to use the cue as an inexpensive break cue. I found that I liked the cue as an inexpensive player to take for playing tavern pool that I could also break with. Bocote is one of the great hitting cue woods with excellent weight.
These cues are 58" wrapless cues with one piece Mexican Bocote butt slightly slender. The 13mm shafts are clear and clean maple with 1/2" Juma ferrule and hard layered Schmelke tip. The joint is flat-face 3/8-10 steel pin with .849-.850 joint size. There are black phenolic collars at the joint and buttcap with rubber bumper. The finish on the butt and shaft is a silky smooth satin UV urethane. No logo. Machined black USA made Delrin joint protector set included. Weight can be added to the cues.
