schmidt wins!!!!

He has been reading but I don't think he has posted. He caught a lot of flak for asking for some help. I for one am glad he did. He wasn't even gonna go! Unbelievable story my man! He decided to book his flight Friday so he could get to the players meeting Sunday.

Taking flak? John is a man with guts for asking for help getting to the open and I respect him for that. The ones that are/were giving him flak are less than men. Johnnyt
 
Congratulations John,
One superb performance at the Open. This could not have happened to a nicer gentleman. I had the pleasure of meeting and playing John some 10yrs ago in CA. He was already a force to be reckoned with and one very polite individual. I was proud to be beat by him(5-4) in a small local tourney. At the end of the match we both wished each other luck in our next matches. No he did not win the tournament that night(it was either Keith McCready or Neil Fujiwara).

Regardless to say John is a great champion and now has the title to back it up. Congrats once again.
