Who is the cue maker for Schon Cues since Evan left?
What happened to Evan?
ThanksEvan left Schon quite a while ago, started Segen cues, but sadly passed not long after.
I think I heard John is gone now too, though I could be wrong about that. I haven't been to the shop in many years, last time I was it was John running the shop after Evan left.
He moved to somewhere in S.America with a younger hottie. I think he died smiling. Terry Romine Jr. is in charge now. I forgot he took over after John left. I think there was friction between John and Romine Sr's wife/widow after he died. Thanks
Sorry to hear about Evan.
I was away from pool for many years.
Love my Schon cues
I tried to message you.Who made the desirable skull cues that I want to get?
I think Romine has always been involved with Schon. Romine also owns a huge pool hall in WI that goes by the name of Romines High Pockets. I think they have 50 Gold Crown III's, 2 3 cushion tables, a snooker table, and 7 footer or 2 last time I was there. They also have great Mexican food, they have everything I need!!!!He moved to somewhere in S.America with a younger hottie. I think he died smiling. Terry Romine Jr. is in charge now. Terry Romine Sr. started both Schon and the poolroom. Terry Jr. is now running Schon after John left.I think Romine has always been involved with Schon. That part I knew but Runde left a long time ago and Terry Romine I had assumed was not involved with the business anymore. The history is in the Blue Book of Pool Cues, it's general knowledge

This is the logo on a brand new cue, out of their shop, that is currently for sale. It’s obvious the quality standard is nowhere near the Runde or Clarke eras. It looks like a child did it. SadI was friends with Evan. We used to talk weekly. What a great guy and I love his Schon cues. I've owned many from the EC era.
Well, I went two weeks ago to a billiard store in Springfield IL with a plan to buy a new Schon cue, just for fun. The store had multiple models for sale and from a distance they were gorgeous. Unfortunately, in-hand, and I REALLY hate to say this but must be honest, the quality was dissapointing. The wrap felt like crap, and there were multiple fit and finish issues. Not acceptable at those price points. I delicately pointed these issues out to the vendor and they were very understanding. I sadly left without a new Schon, but I did spend right under $1000 for a brand new McDermott. This was from their higher-end line, and the quality, fit, and finish were just superb.
